Jacob showed me how to Trust
This really isn't about Jacob but something I wanted to share with everyone. It's about me accepting Jesus Christ as my Saviour.
My parents took me to church all my life. When I was 22 I thought I had been saved but always in my heart I really knew I wasn't but was always ashamed to say any different. In short, the preacher would always say "Repent of your sins, Ask God to have mercy on you, Trust in Jesus." I'd do all those things wanting to be saved with all my heart but didn't know exactly HOW to trust Jesus. How did I know he would save me? Why would he want to save me? It was all so much like a fairy tale. I knew the story of Jesus; I knew what all to say. I'd lay in bed at night and cry myself to sleep praying and asking God to save me.
This is what opened my eyes. We were at my parents house and Jacob was jumping off the back deck into his grandpaw's arms. He never doubted his grandpaw wouldn't catch him. He kept doing it over and over. His grandpaw caught him every time! He TRUSTED grandpaw to catch him. As I lay in bed that night that picture kept going through my mind of Jacob jumping in grandpaw's arms. I said to myself that's what trust is. That's all it takes! Right then I accepted Jesus as my Saviour. I'll never doubt again that I am saved.
