Boys Night Out

Jacob and his daddy went camping this weekend by themselves!  All of my friends from school came to our house and what better thing for Jacob and Jim to do than to go camping.   I was a little worried my little man would miss his mommy but sounds like all went well and he didn't even realize I was gone.  I think it was good Father-Son bonding.

Saturday night Jim took him to see a MS Braves game but I don't think Daddy got to watch too much of the game for watching Jacob.  Jacob has also been a little on the shy side but sounds like he's getting over it.  Jim said he walked up to a little girl and started running his fingers through her hair and almost gave SUGAR to another girl!  I'm sorry, but it's just toooooo early for all that!!

All in all I believe they had a great time.
At the game....  say CHEESE

Some of Jacob's Firsts

Today was a hot day in South Mississippi but it didn't stop us from getting out and about. Jacob went to McDonald's for the first time and I'm afraid when he starts talking and able to express where he wants to go McDonald's is what we will hear. He loved playing in the play area and although he's not really into climbing yet he loved watching the other kids and just running around.

After McDonald's we went to Kamper Park Zoo and rode the train for the humpteenth time. They were having a little difficulty getting the train to run but after patiently waiting for about 20 minutes they had it up and running!

Jacob patiently waiting.....

Being so hot we decided to let that be all we did and left. Then we rode into the downtown part of Hattiesburg and got to see a real train. Jacob thought that was awesome!!

A few more pictures from the zoo...

The train had to stop for this bird because it was on the tracks; then it flew into the water

Jellystone Water Park

Jellystone is the place to take your children for some water fun! We all had a ball this weekend. It was raining when we first woke up Saturday morning and the first thing Jacob did was hit the mud puddles!

After it cleared up a bit we went to the splash zone.

Last time we were there Jacob didn't care too much for the water but this time was quiet different. He was jumping in the swimming pool (of course his daddy was catching him), sliding down the slides and running around in the water.

After the splash zone area it was time for a nap.

Tye-dyed shirt we made at the Activity Center

Wall Art

I never have let Jacob play with crayons very much because he was still in the "put everything in his mouth" mode. Well, he is kind of getting out of that and I let him have some crayons last night. He is really starting to show interest in writing and drawing or I guess I should say scribbling on paper. I always try to keep up with him and make sure he's not into something but last night I had my back turned for just a few seconds and he created his first WALL ART. Here is a picture!
